What is right???

Its been two months since i posted anything...Well life's been busy of late. I had my campus placements going on.. Then there was the exams and i went to chennai, rameshwaram and madurai then back to college....As its the last sem i and my friends went to Matheran which is a hill station near Mumbai..Had gr8 fun there, clicked many pics(you can chk in orkut)..Only thing missing was the cold weather...It was not cold, maybe due to global warming...So did not get time to devote for writing.
The incidents in manglore pub has brought fore once again the term moral policing...I can't understand how some people(most of them illterate) can decide what is right for a particular section of the soceity and what is wrong..Whats wrong if a woman wants to drink in a pub with her own money....its just like what the taliban did in Afghanistan...
On arresting them these people are saying that they are like elder brothers and if they hit their sister's what is wrong...I would like to remind these 'so-called elder brother's' that "Every 26 minutes a woman in India is molested. Every 34 minutes a woman is raped. Every 42 minutes a woman is sexually harassed. Every 43 minutes a woman is kidnapped." why can't they do something about it instead of focussing on petty issues like girls and boys holding hands..girls drinking etc etc...Can't a person who has the right to vote a particular government into power...cannot decide for themselves what is good for them and what is not. In the villages in AP there are mujra's where the dancers dance in the buff....these guys don't have a problem with that...It just speaks of double standards...and in cities u get more media coverage..so its where they focus more..
Even the art in India is stifled..If i remeber exactly M.F hussian paintings were destroyed because he depicted hindi gods and godess in the nude...Now if thats wrong then most of the temples in India will have to demolish these as they have similar statues and painitings...Why don't they leave it to the people to decide those who want to see the paintings can visit the exhibition and those people who don't like don't visit them...Its a matter of personal choice...
For political mileage these politicans can do anything...its just disgusting to see...Sometimes i feel that we are moving backwards instead of moving forward...

That's what I have been trying to understand since a long time. It's the land of Khajuraos and Kamasutra and we have problems with sex-education at schools and colleges! In Bangalore recently, there was a front-page story of a politician who opposed sex education, caught red-handed with his mistress..Plain Hypocrisy!

Nice Article! :)
