Visit to Kharghar Hills!!!

Let me share with you a wintry morning in January I spent on the top of Kharghar hills. First of all let me tell you where Kharghar Hills are located. They are a part of the hills covering CBD Belapur on the northwest side and its accessible from the road running parallel to Sion-Panvel Highway. These hills have been declared as a nature park by NMMC and is open from 6.00 am to 6.00 pm. Thanks to the motorable road, you can lose yourself to the bosom of the hill in half-hour ride, which winds up to the top of hill. I started from my home at about 6.00 am on my bike. It was a really nice ride, what with the temperatures well below 20° C, winding roads and greenery on both the sides. I reached the top of the hills at around 6.30 am and the sky was flush with the pre-dawn light. It was really a beautiful sight to behold, which made me happy that I got up early on weekend. The sunrise began at about 6.53 am which gave another colour to the sky as the first rays of the sun began to emerge...

Been a really long time....Just some updates about me...

Hi to my few followers, it’s been over a year since I updated my blog. How are you all? If you ask me why I have been not updating my blog, I would say that my last post in April 2010 was praised by you all which made me want to write something even better. But I guess I did not find anything much inspiring to write. Now I realized that I should keep writing then only I can improve on my writing. So before I start with my regular blogs I would like to give you all an update about myself. Here it goes….. Last year July I completed my one year in professional life and I got confirmed in the same firm. During this period I learnt a lot of things, made new friends etc etc..I also realized during this period that the time we spent in college is really a special one…We do have money in our pockets but very little time and company to spend it..but then I can buy the things I always wanted to buy..So with every tradeoff there is something to gain too. Even the no. of calls one gets on his b’d...

The day I met her....…..

I never knew that my trip to God’s own country would be special as I only had plans to visit my grandparents and to go for my friend Aswin’s reception…I am glad that I made this trip as I got to see her, one the of most beautiful woman I have seen, my dream girl . Initially I had planned to go for his marriage in Kannur and not visit my grandparents…But I guess fate willed otherwise and I met her, as there was every chance that I would miss her…… Well this incident happened on the 28th of April 2010 when I went for the reception of my friend….I reached his place (reception was at his place) at around 7.30 then met the new-weds, took a pic with them..Then I proceeded for dinner…my dinner was over at about 8.30 and I thought of leaving for my home as my grandparents sleep early. That’s when my friend said that one our classmate is coming and that I could meet him. It was nice to meet him after a year..I gave him company for dinner and as he had to go back to Trivandrum he said he would l...

25 years of my Life….

I have been wanting to write on this topic since my 25th b’day (it was in last yr Sept) but never got the interest to do so. But today I feel like sharing with you all some of my experiences in these 25 years of my life. My earliest memories are of our 1BHK house in Gujarat where I had my first best friend -Dipu. It was so much fun roaming around in our tricycles. Then I shifted to another place that when I made a lot of friends but two among them Vivek and Lala were my best buddies..One of my major achievements was when I learnt to dress myself and tie my shoelaces…I had a sense of pride in that as I felt all grown up. Little did I know that it was just a small step in my life… when I was about 5 my sister was born and I was so happy to have her. Before leaving Gujarat we visited a good many places like Dwaraka and Gir forest where we had a real adventure though I was very young to feel afraid of anything, Udaipur in Rajasthan( I was very much impressed with the story Maharana Pratap ...

Sunday with NGO's…..

Today I went for a visit to two NGO’s near to my place along with the organisation Seva Sahayog to see how these NGO’s work….The tour of the NGO’s was organised so that volunteers like me could know what type of work these NGO’s do and how we can contribute towards it… 1. First we went to a village about 17 kms away from the place where I stay. They have constructed a small dispensary where every Sunday doctors conduct medical camps....This was started about 20 years back, when there was no proper approach road also. It was very nice to hear that within 3 years they treated the entire village of scabies…After sometime they started a hostel for 10 children so that they get proper food, coaching and amenities. 2. Secondly we went to a small district called as ‘Pen’ where a Mahila samiti was running an Old age home and a hostel for the tribal girls. I liked this place the best as it was run by simple women who were not that educated , but still were running the place efficiently. They eve...

Indian Politics (Part-1)

Image
View's of a aam adami (thats me) My blog's about the petty politics our politicians indulge in... The other day we witnessed the ruckus created by MNS during the Oath taking ceremony just because someone took his oath in Hindi...This just goes to prove how these politicians value Democracy. See how they have treated the assembly as some common marketplace. What happens to our freedom of expression...Specially when the constitution has provisions for swearing in 8 different languages. They could have atleast protested by wearing black bands..... Whats alarming is that a small section of the society (read politicians)are deciding what the larger part of the society should do...Isn't is dangerous how the will of these handful of people is being imposed on us...Now lets assume that every1 starts speaking in Marathi even the non-Maharastrians...So would we get better roads, would the rising prices come down, in short would all the problems get solved?? What about the marathi spe...

Mysteries of Life……

Image
I am sure every one of you will agree with me that “Life really is a Mystery”…. I always wonder how do we live, I mean what are the laws which govern our lives, who or what decides the things that we face in our life…How the decisions we take today have great repercussions later in on our life… I want to share incident which happened my office. After lunch we usually take a walk in the compound of our office. Two people were sitting nearby and one of them called us (I and my frnd) near him. He asked us what our qualifications were and my friend proudly answered that we had done our graduation in engineering and then a post graduation. He then asked about the procedures of getting into engineering and medical colleges for his children. And then he started speaking in English and that also very nicely, at least better than some of the educated people I know. After hearing him talk like that we were very surprised to know that he was a driver. My friend asked him his qualification and he...
